I have lead a much richer life by not closing my mind to improbable possibilities. I know that there is no scientific proof linking wishes to shooting stars but that doesn’t stop me getting excited by the prospect of a free wish when I see one.

Birthday wishes by comparison have a little more gravitas associated with them as each year’s wish is a reflection of who we were and will be. There is considerable pressure for birthday wishes to not be wasted on frivolities but a shooting star wish is a special little treat just for yourself because you’ve earned it. I always make mine count. They may not always come true but each star that falls can keep me amused for hours.
